Work as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) in Canada
Qualification:
To qualify for this opportunity, you will have to complete a Continuing Care Assistant Program in Canada for 40 weeks (10 months) only.
Program Overview
To practice as a CCA in Nova Scotia, an individual must be 1) a graduate of the CCA Program delivered by a licensed education provider and 2) successfully pass the Nova Scotia CCA Certification Exam.
This program is designed to enable you gain the theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the relevant certification required of CCAs.
While in program, learners will be enrolled, full time, in 40 weeks of theoretical instruction and clinical placement. Following successful completion of the program, graduates may seek employment in health care settings such as home support agencies, long term care facilities, small options homes, homes for the aged, private homes and hospitals. This program initiative provides a pathway to a meaningful career and the building of a skilled, adaptable and self-sufficient workforce that contributes to the prosperity of Nova Scotia communities.
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Institution: This course is delivered by Oxford International College.
Visa type: Study.
Work during program: You can work for up to 20 hours weekly while enrolled in the program.
Salary after program: CCAs can expect to earn a starting salary of approximately $17.00 to $18.00 per hour plus shift differentials or $39,000 – $40,000 average starting yearly salary.
Work Permits: You can apply for a work permit immediately after the program and start working. You are also eligible to apply for permanent residency after two years of working.
Dependents? Yes, you are allowed to travel with dependents.
Entry requirements: WAEC or NECO. No IELTS required. No previous health required. 21 years and above are eligible.
Start dates: April and September.
Tuition fee: $20,000 CAD; $10,000 CAD deposit required after admission offer has been received.
Application fee payable to school: $1,000 CAD
